These terms are the agreement between you and Pints ("we", "us") when you use the app. By signing in or using Pints, you accept them. Please also read our Privacy Policy.
Who can use Pints
You must be 21 or older and able to agree to these terms. One account per person, and you're responsible for what happens on it, so keep access to your email secure. If we learn an account belongs to someone under 21, we'll close it.
Your content
Your ratings, lists, names, photos, crawls, comments and pubs you add are yours. You give Pints a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free permission to store, copy, resize and show them, as your privacy settings allow, so we can run Pints. That permission ends when you delete them or your account, except for copies in backups, which are cleared within a short time, and pubs you added, which stay without your name. Ratings are personal opinions, yours and everyone else's.
You're responsible for what you post. Only post photos you took or have the right to share, and think before posting other people: if someone asks you to take a photo of them down, please do.
If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them to improve Pints without owing you anything.
Play fair
Please don't:
- harass, threaten or impersonate anyone, or post hateful or explicit content;
- post nude, sexual or intimate images of anyone, or anything involving a minor;
- post photos or words that aren't yours to share;
- add fake pubs, or rate places to manipulate scores;
- use Pints for anything illegal, including serving or encouraging drinking under 21;
- scrape the app, overload it, or get around its limits or security.
We may remove content, or suspend or close accounts, that break these rules. Crawl organizers can also remove any comment or photo on their crawl.
Reporting and taking things down
Use Report on any comment, photo, person or pub, or write to hello@pintsranked.com.
Intimate images. If an intimate image of you was posted without your consent, report it in the app (choose "A private or intimate image of me") or email us with "Takedown" in the subject, a link to it or the crawl it's on, and enough to confirm it's you. We remove valid requests within 48 hours, along with copies we can find.
Copyright. If you believe something on Pints infringes your copyright, send our copyright agent a notice that includes: the work you say is infringed; where it is on Pints (a link or the crawl and comment); your name, address, phone and email; a statement that you believe in good faith the use isn't authorized by you, your agent or the law; a statement, under penalty of perjury, that your notice is accurate and you're the owner or allowed to act for them; and your physical or electronic signature. If your content was removed and you believe that was a mistake, you can send us a counter-notice. We close the accounts of people who repeatedly infringe.
Copyright agent: hello@pintsranked.com.
Pubs, crawls and drinking
Pints doesn't sell alcohol and isn't connected to any pub on it. Pub names belong to their owners. Pub details come from public map data (OpenStreetMap and Overture Maps) and other people, so they can be wrong or out of date; check before you travel. Crawls and check-ins are plans between friends: you're responsible for your own safety and choices. Drink responsibly and never drink and drive.
The service
We're working to make Pints great, but it's free and provided "as is", without warranties of any kind: we can't promise it will always be available, accurate or error-free, and we may change or stop features.
Limits on liability. To the extent the law allows, Pints isn't liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, or for what other people do or post, and our total liability to you for any claim about Pints is limited to $100. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.
If someone brings a claim against Pints because you broke these terms or the law, you agree to cover Pints' reasonable costs of dealing with it, including legal fees.
Leaving
You can delete your account at any time from Account. We may close accounts that break these terms. The parts of these terms that by their nature should continue (such as the limits on liability and how disputes work) still apply after an account is closed.
Disagreements
If you have a problem with Pints, please write to us first: most things can be sorted out that way, and we'll try within 30 days. If not, these terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, and any dispute goes to the state or federal courts in New York County, New York, which you and Pints both agree to.
Changes and the small print
If we change these terms, we'll update the date at the top and tell you in the app or by email before important changes take effect. Using Pints after that means you accept them.
These terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and Pints. If a part of them can't be enforced, the rest still applies. If we don't enforce something straight away, we can still do so later. We may transfer these terms if Pints is reorganized or sold; you can't transfer yours.
